Who We Are

Wongsakan was established in Bangkok in 2009 by a small group of Thai-qualified lawyers who noticed a gap in the way family matters were handled locally. Many clients felt rushed, poorly informed, or unsupported during what were already difficult periods of their lives.

From the outset, the practice was structured differently. Appointments are not time-limited in a way that leaves people mid-thought. Correspondence is written in plain English. And fees are discussed openly before any work is commissioned.

Today, the team works across divorce and separation, child custody and support arrangements, and family mediation. The client base includes Thai nationals, expatriates, and foreign nationals navigating Thai law from abroad — all served with the same attentiveness.

Our Mission

To offer families in Bangkok legal counsel that feels as supportive as it is professionally sound — so that people leave each consultation feeling clearer, not more anxious.

Ongoing Legal Education

The team participates in regular training and attends seminars on family law developments, including updates to civil and commercial code provisions affecting family matters.

Client Feedback Process

After each matter concludes, clients are invited to share confidential feedback. This helps the team identify where the service can be made clearer, more responsive, or more supportive.

Family Law in Bangkok — A Considered Approach

Thai civil and family law draws on a codified framework that covers marriage registration, asset division, parental rights, and dispute resolution. For families working through separation or custody matters in Bangkok, the provisions of the Civil and Commercial Code are the primary legal reference point — and understanding them accurately matters a great deal to outcomes.

At Wongsakan, we have worked within this framework since 2009. Over that period we have supported families from diverse backgrounds: Thai nationals, long-term residents from Europe and Australia, and international couples whose circumstances span multiple jurisdictions. Each situation brings its own particular questions, and our work reflects that variety.

The Bang Rak district location of our office places us within a short journey of major commercial and residential areas of Bangkok, and our team is fluent in English, making communication straightforward for clients whose first language is not Thai. We take pride in the fact that many of our clients come to us through the recommendation of those we have assisted before — a reflection, we believe, of the care taken at each stage of a matter.
